BMW R 1200 RT grand touring bike

BMW R 1200 RT grand touring bike

Is it a luxury touring bike? A sport bike? BMW figured why choose just one when they can build a bike that does it all. That is the idea behind the R 1200 RT, and it does a fair job of delivering. Cushy items like heated grips and seats, cruise control, traction control,  huge cargo cases, electronic suspension adjustment and a CD player are items you see only on upper-tier touring bikes. But strip off those cargo cases and twist the throttle and you’ve 110hp worth of 1170cc boxer twin engine at hand to do your best sport bike imitation.

AUTOart celebrates this do-everything two-wheeler with an excellent 1:10 replica that has almost as many features as the real thing. The model has removable, opening cargo cases with folding carry-handles and a removable soft-sided bag over the fuel tank. It comes with two functional, spring-loaded stands, a center two-legged stand and a single side stand. It has folding footpegs front and rear. But the coolest feature has to be the fuctional suspensions — telescoping front and swing-arm rear, both with working metal coil springs.
