Becoming a little blasé about meticulously crafted scale models is an occupational hazard around the DCX office…and then we see something like this.
We first read about Colin Rule in the blog at Hemmings Daily, who combined his occupation as a professional Austin Healey restorer in Australia with his passion for antique pedal cars to produce a 1/2-scale replica of an Austin Healey 3000 MkIII. He then equipped it with a 24V electric motor so it didn’t have to rely on pedal power any longer.
He has now created several half-size Healey clones, as well as a pair of lookalike gas go-karts capable of 100+mph! But its the scale cars that blow our minds — check out the engine detail!
Even more impressive when you consider that 98% of the parts are hand-made!
