Last year HPI entered the 1:43 diecast market with a brace of 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX’s in Rally and Road Racing trim. Subaru gave its overachieving little compact sedans a controversial new nose for the ’06 model year, and HPI has now introduced an updated casting of its models as well. Again, versions of the WRC rally car are available, as are the HPI Racing and Fujitsubo road race cars that campaigned in the Super Taiku road race series. Now however, they are joined by a trio of street-going tuner versions of the Fujitsubo Impreza in blue, dark silver and white. The ’06 versions are even more detailed, with full interiors, precise body castings complete with tow loops, antennas and aero kits. The wheels and tires deserve special note with their fully detailed brake discs.
