After early track successes, Garlits modified and stretched his rail car wheelbase by 25″… and offered a challenge to his rival Don “The Snake” Prudhomme.
They met at Half Moon Bay Dragstrip…. everyone expected The Snake to teach Big Daddy a thing or two… even the trophy had Prudhomme’s name engraved on it!
