Die-cast badass!

Muscle Machines meets Jesse James

Jesse James is the reality-show host for people who think reality shows are for, uh, pansies. From his dozens of tattoos and “F- with me” scowl to the snarling, testosterone-injected Harley-based choppers he cobbles together out of steel tube, sweat and attitude, Jesse James is larger than life. So isn’t it ironic that one of the hottest items bearing his name is, in fact, five times smaller than life? I’m talking about the Muscle Machines 1:5-scale version of Penny Saved-one of the most memorable bikes from Jesse’s Discovery Channel series. And at over a foot long, this model is just as memorable! The original was handmade of copper, and from the detail on the 1:5 version, you’d swear it was, too. Moving brake-disc calipers, hinged clutch and brake handles, articulating kick-start-this bike kicks butt! If this big boy is a little too much bike for you, not to worry; Muscle Machines also makes 1:10-, 1:18- and 1:31-scale versions.

Forget Pamplona!
This bull runs at Le Mans!
First built as the platform for Lamborghini’s monomarque racing series, the Lamborghini Supertrophy for the 2000 season, the Diablo GTR, only 40 of which were built, has seen extensive action in a number of GT endurance events, including Le Mans. This 1:18 model from AUTOart features many details specific to that car. The competition-spec chassis (with its integrated roll cage), Pirelli PZero slicks on center-lug Speedline wheels, Plexiglas side windows, mirror-mounted air ducts, huge Brembo vented disc brakes, carbon-fiber air dam and rear wing and hood-mounted kill-switch say this model is loaded. The inside is equally detailed with textured surfaces and individually molded parts, and we especially get a kick out of the functional door latches. In typical AutoArt fashion, this is a lot of car for the money. If you’d like a piece of Lamborghini’s racing history or you just want a well-crafted example of European exotica, check this one out.
