The original Soccer Moms didn’t drive SUVs – they drove Minis. More specifically, Mini Travellers, the station wagon variant of Alex Issigonis’ world-changing design for a small, efficient, fun to drive car.
Kyosho has been working with Mini for years (the wee blue 1:18 Mini “Classic” with the Union Jack on its roof is still a favorite around here), and these new releases of the vaunted car, including a brace of Travellers with opening doors and hood and steerable front wheels, will be out soon in 1:18.
If they run true to Kyosho’s usual MO, they’ll be beautifully built, smoothly painted, and cute as heck – maybe just the thing to get your own “Soccer Mom” enchanted with diecast collecting. Now, that would be a score.
