SPY SHOTS! ACME Re-Fires Real Art Replicas!

SPY SHOTS! ACME Re-Fires Real Art Replicas!

You’d think that the hyper-slick photography we usually employ (if we do say so ourselves) would be the type of image we’d get excited about around here. But you’d be wrong. The photos we love – like these, from an undisclosed location far away, via ACME Trading – are the grainy, badly-lit kind you usually see when someone is sending first shot snaps of works in progress.

ACME is resurrecting a name from their past – real Art Replicas – and these spy shots of an upcoming 1:12 Lotus 49, and a giant, well-in-progress 1:8 So-Cal Belly Tanker show that the top-tier brand from the Winder boys (yep – they’re still there, folks) is not only running – it’s moving in leaps and bounds. These huge resin models will come across as museum-style pieces with extraordinary detail, and truly limited production runs.

Stay tuned – we’ll have lots more in the Winter issue of Die Cast X, with more photos, more background, and links to exclusive video of the models and the people who stand behind them. Excited? We are, too. Over and out.
