Some collect by size, some by make or model, and others simply by attitude. Maisto’s new 55s line offers a little of all of the above. The new 1:55 scale is definitely out of the ordinary. So is the departure from being exact to the original car’s shape and design. These are cars and trucks with a slightly animated quality. And since all are entirely new castings, some very interesting selections were included. The Datsun 510 and 620 pickup are by far the head of the class. The Toyota Tacoma is also a diecast first. A wicked Evo and 350ZX plays to the tuner crowd, while the Scion XB adds urban funk. All are fully tricked out with oversize tired and wheels, wild paint and loads of attitude.
