AUDI 1936 Auto Union Type C Racer

At this past Nuremberg Toy Fair, Audi unveiled the latest in its range of e-tron concept studies—an all-electric, 1:2-scale version of the 1936 Auto Union Type C Grand Prix car. The electrically propelled version of the 1930s classic racer is based on the limited-edition pedal car. Its electric motor is capable of a top speed of 18mph and can cover up to 15 miles on a two-hour charge from a standard household current. The body is hand-finished aluminum and carbon-effect material. The electric motor drives the rear wheels and is charged by a lithium-ion battery. Although designed for children, when released, it will be a pricey collector’s piece. But, it’s all so cool, and the quality is on a par with real-world Audi automobiles.
